Thursday Thirteen #8 - My Fave Writing Quotes

Final Thursday Thirteen?? I'm crushed! What will I stress about each Wednesday?

Memorable Writing Quotes

  3. Writing became such a process of discovery that I couldn't wait to get to work in the morning: I wanted to know what I was going to say. ~Sharon O'Brien

  5. I love being a writer. What I can't stand is the paperwork. ~Peter De Vries
  6. Words - so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne
  7. A writer and nothing else: a man alone in a room with the English language, trying to get human feelings right. ~John K. Hutchens, New York Herald Tribune, 10 September 1961

I love quotes and those are great! #12 is very funny.
Thanks for visiting my TT. I hope someone will take over from Leanne, so it won't discontinue.

Huh. Number 3 fits me to a T -- and then some.

Happy final TT, Wylie! Hope you'll come visit West of Mars more often; I know I've got you bookmarked, so I'll be dropping in from time to time.

Write well!

I like #9 although I can't say any book has ever made me sweat blood before.

creative swearing and much head banging, yes. but no bleeding

#10, one of my favorites.

Ugh, hate that this is the last one. I had some GREAT ideas lined up... maybe I'll just do unofficial TT's!

So sad it's the last one - I had just joined you all!

I love 8! Never heard it before, but I like the hidden cruelness of it. Does that make me a bad person? ;)

I hope that Thursday Thirteen doesn't go away. I contacted Leanne and I'm determined to rescue the thirteen if I can!

I love those quotes -- there's up there on my list of faves, too. And argh, last Thursday Thirteen -- so sad!

I think my favorite quote of the ones you mentioned is #2. Says so much about the subtlety of storytelling.

Happy Thursday, Wylie! :) My TT is up -- random mind droppings, LOL.

I'm loving those quotes. #4 has always been my favorite. And I don't know a bunch of the others--all good.

So you have blessed linkiness on blogger. Why does it hate me so much, I wonder.

I love the one attributed to Ohio University!

I can remember blog posts of mine where someone apparently hijacked my keyboard when I wasn't looking and spewed forth some really disjointed, scattered...stuff.

wait a sec.

WHY is TT ending? Who said? If I do it next week, will I get in trouble?

I love #1 and #4! A great way to end TT, if it has to end ...

*sigh* Happy TT, anyway!
