Thumpety Thump Thump

It snowed in my neck of the woods. Oh boy did it snow!!

Little Sweetness had his Christmas Concert last Friday so we pulled big brother, Light, out of school, which was only supposed to be for a couple of hours -- but it had snowed so much while we were in the church hall that we decided not to take him back, just to turn around and come home on a school bus a few hours later... in white out conditions.

We spent the rest of the day, snuggled inside watching Christmas movies. Then we had an old fashioned Christmas sing-a-long which started out to be much fun,... until 4 yr old Sweetness, who is completely stuck on Frosty the Snowman, decided to add "thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump" to every other carol.

Silver Bells didn't ring-a-ling, they thumpety thump thumped, Silent Night wasn't very quiet with all the thumpety thump thumps going on and On the First Day of Christmas my true love actually gave a thumpety thump thump to me.

On the other hand, none of the Kinsons can carry a tune so those thumpety thump thumps probably improved our attempts.

Here's a pic of 9 yr old Light on Saturday. Despite the frigid temps, Daddy Kinson had the boys outside for most of the day - tobagganin, building snow forts (pictured) and getting them good and tired out! He's totally up for Daddy-of-the-Year, ain't he? :)

Oh - and the Christmas list of many-things-that-must-be-done is more than half complete, which is a big 'whew'. One more trip to the mall, one more trip to the grocery store, one more trip to the sanity store...

Oh crap. They don't have one of those, do they?

I'm screwed.

You mentioned Frosty the Snowman in your post. Try these [anagrams]: Voices > Narrator = [Jammed In Yurt] / Professor Hinkle = [Elbowed Filly] / Frosty = [Connive A Jerk]. Play today's TV game.

Now I can't get Thumpety Thump Thump out of my head . . . That is a lot of snow. It's getting cold here, but that's it. Sorry about the sanity store. I'm getting ready to make a hot chocolate/kahlua recipe which might be just as good. Just don't give it to the kiddies. Merry Christmas!

Sanity store? You're fine, woman. Just hang out and enjoy.

(btw, nope, no invite for the Hatchet this year. But stay tuned; there are two more installments and a thirteen planned!)

hehe, Sanity Store! Sounds like you're doing great, my friend. And I love the picture of Light in his snow fort! I told hubby I wish we'd get a pile of snow here, and we'd make snow forts, snow men, and snow cats up on the mountain! :-D

Yep snow to make igloos. We had the kids out too. On Friday because all the schools were closed. Yesterday I had a knock at my door, and it was our neighbor and her two little girls who are in Boo's class. They all went to the park it was awesome.

I'll have to return the favor and have the little girls over here for a playdate. LOL.

Today it's snowing again and there's a huge drift against my house. At least Santa has lots of snow.

My kids used to make snow forts too but do you know for the life of me I don't think we took any pictures. (Why the heck was that?)

I love that your family was all singing Christmas songs, especially the addition of Thumpety Thump -that'll be a memory that'll stick for a LONG LONG time.

Leah - yes, those Thumpety Thump-Thumps probably will stick around a long time, even though I desperately want them to go away now!!
And you probably didn't take pics because you were so busy playing IN the forts, right? ;)

Bonnie - you are a genius!! The Godiva store is indeed where I need to go to refill the sanity well. *running....*

Ooh, snow forts look like fun. I've never lived in a place that has tons of snow.

LOL I bet the thumpety-thump gets old after a while!

Hate snow...

Three flipping snow storms in a row. And I'm a maritimer, so I'm used to this type of thing.

Still hate snow.

On that note, I wanted to wish you and the Kinson clan a Merry Christmas!! I hope I'll see you at the January meeting. HUGS!!

I'd love to see snow, but I'm in Florida so it's not gonna happen (I did see sugar sand, but it's not the same).
Merry Christmas! (and throw a snowball for me). :)

Sanity Store - LOL! The snow fort picture is awesome. I have a picture of my husband in a snowfort with his brothers and sister, and I just love that one.

Merry Christmas, Wylie! And to your family, many hugs to you from Down East.
