One more day until the kidlets are back in school. Can I hear an "Oh yeah!"? I've enjoyed our holiday time together, but quite honestly have exhausted every means of entertainment at my disposal and am more than ready to get back to some routine.
We played board games, did puzzles, crafts (it'll take me all of January to get the dried glue off the kitchen table) and went bowling.
Saw two movies -- Bedtime Stories (highly recommend!!) and The Tale of Desperaux (meh - visually lovely but the story was all over the place), went to Chuck E Cheese, and played hours of Wii -- in fact, yours truly won the 2nd Annual Wii Olympics, I'll have you know, which is a total joke if you could possibly fathom how unathletic I truly am!!
In terms of my resolutions, I've made positive steps on # 5 & #6, which were, respectively, to shed some weight and exercise more. I joined Weight Watchers *little groan at the thought of chocolate depravation* and bought an exercise bike.
I enjoyed the WW meeting -- sort of like going to my monthly RWA chapter meeting in terms of boosting confidence and motivation, but my bike clicks when I ride, which means I need to take it back. But hey - if you're savvy, you've realized that I must have USED my bike to know it clicks, so that's good, eh??? ;)
Writing has been placed gently but firmly on the back burner during the holidays - aside from the contest entry - and will hopefully get back to a boil come Tuesday. I look forward to those few hours in the afternoons when I can hide away in the library with my laptop and iPod...
I leave you with...
Overheard at the Kinsons:
Sweetness (aka 4 year old): Mom, who's cuter... me or you?
Me (surprised by question): You are, buddy.
Sweetness: I knew you'd know the right answer!

Yea on the WW and exercise bike. Getting large sporting equipment delivered and installed is exercise enough for me. Enjoy getting back to the routine. I'm looking forward to that myself.
Now that is one smart (and cute) 4 year old!
Way to go on the WW and exercise bike. I've got a treadmill gathering dust, and have been considering going back to WW.
As for Sweetness - I'm just picturing him in ten years' time trying to get a date with that line.
I could deal with clicks. I put my bike on a trainer during the winter so I can ride inside (BORING!!) and even with my MP3 player on, I can still hear that back tire squeaking and squealing.
Keep up with the bike. I wish I could send the Tour Manager over to you; he'd fix it up in a jif.
Sounds like you're doing good! Rock on sister. ;)
Karen... but it's only the first couple of days, so I'd be REALLY pathetic if I wasn't making some headway LOL
SHG - send him over, cause my hubby just looked at it and shook his head :P
Leah - that kid is SOOOO going to get dates ;)
Kristy - you're right about that! Putting my bike together was day one of exercise!! Whew
Aw - that is so cute. :)
Good for you for starting on your resolutions. Go, Wylie! It's a normal work week for us now and hubby has gone off to work. Ah, blissful peace!
Yay - school's back tomorrow! Can't wait! LOL
Wii Fit's been my best friend since I got it for Christmas. I'm trying to be positive about it's actual excercise benefits.
I finally wrote about 1200 words the other day, but nothing since. I bought myself a shiny little wee Aspire One and am hoping that will inspire me to "aspire" to greatness (bwahahah, ok, lame, but you know what I mean).
Sweetness is really too cute.
I haven't done the writing I wanted to. Also been playing games, Wii, watching movies, going shopping...And tomorrow is my last monday off before I start a new job and have to work full time again. I'm hoping to make it count by not moving from my computer desk for at least eight hours straight
I hope you get back into the work soon..Wohoo on the bike...good job....
Yay! I'm glad you got an exercise bike. And I'm giggling at what Sweetness said -- so funny! :-D
Happy Writing come Tuesday -- and I'm sending lots and lots of good vibes for that contest!
H & P, my friend. :)
WTG on WW. I was a member, but with the whole knocked up thing I kind of had to leave. Hopefully in the fall I'll be able to afford to rejoin.
It worked for me. I know for sure the exercising routine will have to wait until the late fall when I heal.
I am so glad that Boo is back in school.
Hi Wylie hon. Long time forever no chat. >_< Sorry. Missed ya.
Jumping back into blogging and pimping and getting the Tribe back together.
I'm guest host at Erotic Muses today. Stop by and say hi if you can. http://eroticmuses.blogspot.com/2009/01/sources-of-inspiration.html

Lakota, you devil-goddess you. Where the HELL have you been???!?!?! So glad you've reincarnated yourself :D
Blogworld has not been the same without you.
Hey, Congrats on the bike and WW. I'm still working my butt off at work, so I'm easing my way into my resolutions. :)
Ann - one must take this things slowly, and easing into them takes the shock value away - which can only lead to success, n'est pas?
:)
Dare I admit I've lost 37 lbs in a little less than two months? LOL.
Of course, you don't want to go through what I did in order to lose it. Trust me on that! LOL.
The real trick is now to keep it off and not add it back! Ugh.
Good Luck with the resolutions, sugar. ((hugs))
Your kiddo is adorable. And funny.
Cass Curtis
Cass - 37 pounds!! Wow :)
I hope it wasn't a health or stress issue that caused it (or if so, I hope it's over...and hugs back) but good luck on keeping it off. You can do it!!
LOL on the Sweetness! Have I ever mentioned I just love Kidworld. Kidworld being the zone where kids live - and I love the glimpses into Kidworld when little moments like that crop up.
There's an escalator being fixed in my office lobby, and a workman was standing in the pit which is under the plate at the foot of the escalator. He was only visible from the chest up. I heard a little boy passing by with his mom say, "Man's stuck, Mommy."
*LOL* Awww @ the Sweetness moment.
Good to hear you're getting back into the writing groove. ;)
